amazon-tests-that-drivers-use-their-personal-vehicles-for-deliveries

Lauren Samaha, an Amazon spokesperson, told Fox Television Stations that Amazon is testing a new delivery system made up of independent drivers who deliver locally purchased products directly from third-party vendors to consumers.

Flexible drivers work like other app-based delivery companies like Uber and DoorDash. And in the same way Amazon’s independent delivery contractors will be able to use their own vehicle to make direct deliveries to the consumer.

According to the information, Amazon is conducting tests through a pilot program in the states of Nevada, Virginia and Arizona. Flexible drivers in these regions already transport groceries and other products available through Amazon Fresh.

“We have been delivering from third party stores for years. This is just another way we can connect Amazon sellers with customers through convenient delivery options,” Samaha said.

On the other hand, it was also revealed that Uber is reducing the number of hiring drivers and company expenses. Dara Khosrowshahi, the CEO of Uber, said that the company will take action in the face of the drastic changes that are taking place in the financial market.

“Less efficient incentive and marketing expenses will be withdrawn,” he said. Khosrowshahi in an email sent to staff. “We will treat hiring as a privilege and be deliberate about when and where we add staff. We will be even tougher on costs across the board.”

Delivery work is in high demand and is not exempt from experiencing singular situations. There are many stories of people who work in this type of activity.

Among the most recent incidents, there is that of a man in Oklahoma City who allegedly threw an inert grenade at a pickup truck. Amazon delivery on the move.
