After a magazine circulating in Mexico confirmed that Xavier López “Chabelo” had metastatic cancer, the actor denied the news on his official Twitter account.
“In response to today’s posts: Cancer? Yes, overcome, thank God and the doctors, out of danger“, the comedian also pointed out on his social networks.
An alleged source close to the family told the publication that Chabelo, in addition Alzheimer’s and senile dementia, he suffered from cancer in an advanced stage, and he even lived terminally ill.
“Evicted? Nope! Crazy? Yes, a little, since I was little. Senile? Past the 15 years. Retired? Yes, after 70 uninterrupted years, I think it was deserved“López added in the statement.
“ Happy to oversee some new projects and looking forward to living a very private and quiet life. Grateful? Yes, eternally for so much affection from the public throughout my career“.
The foregoing comes days after Chabelo himself announced on his social networks his return to the limelight, with the production of several projects , including a bioseries about his life.
Likewise, the production company THR3 Media Group announced an agreement with Espiral, a production company founded by the actor’s son, Xavier López Miranda, to make an animated program and a contest show.
“He lives in the imagination of all of us who grew up with him on Sunday mornings, his presence has no expiration date and means different things to different audiences, that is why he is still so alive in the digital world regardless of the generational distance” , was specified in a press release.
