harry-styles-to-donate-$1-million-to-gun-safety-fund-after-texas-tragedy

Harry Styles will use the profits from the next presentations of his ‘Love On Tour’ for a good cause.

After a mass shooting occurred last week in Uvalde, Texas, which left 19 students and two teachers dead, Harry joined the fight to end gun violence by partnering with the nonprofit for-profit Everytown for Gun Safety and pledged to donate more than $1 million.

Taking to his Instagram account, Styles said in a statement: “Along with all of you, I am absolutely devastated by the recent series of mass shootings in the United States, culminating at the latest at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.”

“On our North American tour, we will partner with Everytown, which works to end gun violence, donate to support their efforts and share suggested actions,” the singer wrote in his title publication ada “Let’s end gun violence”.

The interpreter of ‘As it Was’ also shared the statistic that firearms are the main cause of death among American children and adolescents.

‘Love On Tour’ includes residencies of 15 shows in New York City and The Angels. The tour is in support of his third album, ‘Harry’s House’, which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200.

Harry Styles is not the only important artist who has spoken on the subject. Taylor Swift tweeted that she was “full of rage and grief” over the shooting in Texas, as well as others in Buffalo and Laguna Woods: “We as a nation have conditioned ourselves to unfathomable and unbearable anguish.”

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, also recently showed her support by visiting the town of Uvalde to pay her respects at an impromptu memorial victims and donate food to volunteers at a local blood drive.

Kim Kardashian, for her part, called for gun control laws and proposed concrete measures to limit the access of US citizens to firearms, such as raising the legal age allowed for its acquisition. 2022
