The technical director of the Guatemalan national team, the Mexican Luis Fernando Tena, summoned this Monday 23 players to make up the team that will face the Nations League of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Soccer (Concacaf).

Tena’s list includes four soccer players who play abroad: Antonio de Jesús López (Necaxa from Mexico), Gerardo Gordillo (Gualaceo from Ecuador), Rubio Méndez Rubín (Real Salt Lake from the USA) and José Pinto (Tacuary from Paraguay).

The Mexican made the official announcement once the closing tournament 550 of Guatemalan soccer concluded this Sunday, which Communications, led by Uruguayan Willy Coito, conquered with a 2-0 aggregate victory over its historic rival, Municipal, led by Paraguayan coach José Cardozo.

In fact, both clubs contribute almost half of the players summoned by Tena. From the champion, Comunicaciones, 6 players were called up, while from Municipal 5 were called up.

In the Concacaf Nations League, Guatemala is in Group B and will play four games , against French Guiana, Belize and the Dominican Republic on two occasions.
