In the midst of mourning in Uvalde, Texas, for the massacre that left 21 dead, 19 children and two teachers, Trey Ganem offered to make custom coffins for the victims.
The man, aged 50, from ShoulShine Industries in Edna, pointed to Fox 26 of Houston, who approached the relatives of the deceased and offered to build coffins with special characteristics for the 19 minors.
During the interview, the Samaritan pointed out that the idea is that both relatives and friends of the deceased, when looking at the coffin, remember the minor thanks to some positive characteristic of his life and help to “minimize” a little the pain that his departure leaves them.
“This coffin is for an adult, for a very beautiful person, who tried to protect children. I sat with the family. I was drawn to this coffin, especially after hearing the stories,” Ganem said. each of the victims deserves.
“Building that relationship, being able to go to their houses is something very emotional for me. Hearing them talk about their loved ones helps me incorporate the design of these caskets. When people talk about what they loved, they start to smile. Although it is a horrible moment, they remember the joy and love they had for their loved ones”, he detailed.
Ganem believes that after delivering the coffin, both for him and for the relatives , this is no longer a simple box and becomes a “beautiful creation that represents your loved ones”.
This is just one of the many samples that people in general have given to the parents and relatives of the victims of the massacre in Uvalde.
