Around 23 Sears Hometown locations will close permanently in the coming weeks. The closures were announced on each individual store’s Facebook page rather than in a single press release. The branches are located in some 30 US states

“Unfortunately, we must announce the closing of our Sears Hometown store. It is not a decision we have taken lightly. We have loved all the time we have been able to spend with you during these last 10 years”, published on Facebook the store in Luling, Louisiana, which is about 28 miles from New Orleans, and will close next 23 of June.

Sears Hometown stores were spun off from Sears Holdings in 2012.

Transformco, which acquired Sears Holdings after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2012, has not commented on the closures so far.

For 2019, Sears Hometown had 750 stores in the United States, according to CNN Business.

The remaining Sears Hometown stores are primarily operated in towns small by independent distributors or franchisees of Tran Affiliates sformco.

Stores are usually size 6,000 and 8,000 square feet, a fraction of the size of the Sears department store, which had more than 100,10 square feet, and they mainly sell tools and appliances.

Besides the disappearance every time largest of the Sears Hometown branches, other Transformco stores, such as Sears and Kmart, are also slowly disappearing.

Approximately remain Sears stores in the US, two more in Puerto Rico and only about six Kmarts left in the US, along with six more in Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands .
