Recently we talked about the terrible working conditions that workers from the other side of the world have, particularly in Asian countries, who must work long hours, without rest, for a very poorly paid wage.

On the subject, a video shared on the Weibo platform, which is similar to Twitter, is giving a lot to talk about on social networks. In the clip of 12 seconds you can see a baby locked in something similar to a cage, which tries to go through the small bars in order to being able to reach the person who was recording it.

In the video you can also see a sign with which the cage that has the baby is hidden from some passers-by, which indicates that the operator of the cart de mano, who is the child’s mother, sells flavored frozen jelly, a type of dessert.

After the video went viral, the local Chinese media Wanxiang News managed to find the baby’s mother , who did not want to give her name but who lives in the city of Tongren, in the southwestern province of Guizhou, explained that she had to take her baby to work and that she could not find another way to take her with her than to put it in that type cage.

Similarly, the woman explained that her family was poor and that she could not afford child care. She said that she also needed a way to make sure her son didn’t run and get into trouble when she wasn’t paying attention, hence the need for a cage.

“We don’t have money. Whenever it comes time to buy milk powder, we are short of cash. We eat one meal and there is no money left for the next one,” the woman told the outlet, also explaining that she works around 8 hours a day.

She added that the boy could not stay with his father because he “he didn’t care” and spent all his time playing online, according to the media.

“I try to let it out when there are no customers around. I know that my son is suffering a lot”, he added.
