A man stabbed a teenage girl aged 16 when she was walking backwards on a street in Brooklyn in broad daylight and the dramatic attack was caught on a security camera.

The images published today by the New York police show the teenager entering the establishment “Urban Juice Bar & Grill ” on Rutland Road in the Brownsville neighborhood around 6 pm on 22 in May, unaware when a man approached her from behind, raised a black knife and hit her once in the left shoulder without saying a word, New York Post reported.

Then the suspect slowly walked away, the video shows. The victim was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where she was treated and released. The reason for the attack is not clear, since the young woman did not know the aggressor.

The NYPD released the images in search of the suspect: a man of medium complexion, weighing around 150 pounds, of slim build and black hair.
