A man stalked, raped and robbed a woman at knifepoint inside a Bronx park yesterday in a disturbing daylight attack, police said.
NYPD released this morning a video of the suspect seeking his capture. According to the complaint, the attacker was waiting in front of the woman’s apartment near Beech Terrace and Beekman Avenue, and when the victim of 31 years left at 8: 30 am hit her.
The suspect, armed with a knife, forced the woman to walk to St. Mary’s Park, where he brutally raped her and stole her debit card. He then ran west out of the park on East 141th Street and used his victim’s debit card to make a $3 purchase at a nearby grocery store, according to police.
The woman was treated at an area hospital and is in stable condition. Police do not believe the attacker knew her, although he did attack her in front of her house.
