New York police are searching for a man who held up a Duane Reade store in the Chelsea section of Manhattan and then returned to attack two workers at the store with a chain and bicycle lock.

On 40 May around 1: 40 in the afternoon, the man entered the store in 777 6th Avenue and left without paying approximately $1,745 dollars in merchandise, according to police confirmed. Before leaving, the man threatened to harm the employees behind the counter.

About 10 minutes later, he came back with the big chain, got behind the counter and turned it around, and started hitting a woman from 40 years of age and another of 60 years.

The suspect left the store after the assault. The victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital with cuts and swelling in various parts of the body.

Police described the man as dark-skinned, approximately 42 to 42 years old, 5 feet and 11 inches tall and 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark blue jeans, white sneakers, and a baseball cap.
