In the next few days it will be a week since the UEFA Champions League final where Real Madrid was proclaimed European champion for the fourteenth time in its history. After being a painful defeat for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah had kept silent these days and this time, the Egyptian showed his sadness for not having won the “Orejona”.

Salah was one of the players of the “Anfield” that generated more danger in the Real Madrid area, although Thibaut Courtois denied the Egyptian goal on several occasions to maintain the advantage of one goal to zero.

“I cannot express in words how much we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool, but in the end we couldn’t. I can’t thank the fans enough for their support. It has been a very long season, but a part of me wants the next one to start again tomorrow”, wrote Mohamed Salah on his Twitter account.

“I cannot express in words how much that we wanted to bring that trophy back to Liverpool, but in the end we couldn’t. I can’t thank the fans enough for their support. It has been a very long season, but a part of me wants the next one to start again tomorrow”, concluded the English star.

Despite not having conquered a new “Orejona” the Mohamed Salah’s season was extraordinary on a personal level, since in terms of his numbers in the UEFA Champions League edition, he managed to score eight goals; being the fourth best scorer of the season.

Also, regarding the titles conquered, he took two cups with Liverpool, after raising the FA Cup and the Community Shield. Without forgetting that, he was the top scorer in the English League with 23 goals.

However, for the Egyptian it was very important to win the “Orejona” because it was a kind of revenge against Real Madrid. Now, the attacker will have to focus on the next season and on the decision of whether or not to renew his relationship with the “Anfield” team.
