A stop at an establishment to buy a drink before a visit to the beach led to a man earning $700, dollars in the North Carolina lottery.
The North Carolina Education Lottery reported that the lucky person, identified as Kannapolis resident Stephen Kardos, paid $10 for a “Scorching Hot 7s” ticket. The purchase was made at Han-Dee Hugo on Wilmington’s Carolina Beach Road.
When he scratched off the ticket in his car, it took the player several minutes to internalize what happened, as it crashed. For a moment he thought the ticket was fake.
“ I almost started to cry because I can finally buy my own house“, revealed.
The man plans to move to Wilmington, since he is a regular fisherman.
Kardos claimed his prize Tuesday at Lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After taxes were subtracted, he was left with the sum of $ 497, 073. The Scorching Hot 7s game debuted in April with four prizes won. Two people have not yet claimed another two prizes for the same amount.
