Following the May 24 massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas Rangers seized an iPhone 11 Pro-Max that was was next to the body of the gunman Salvador Ramos, aged 18 years old.
And the first search warrant for the shooting that left 21 dead, 19 children and two teachers.
Uvalde County District Court Judge Camille DuBose authorized investigators to perform a forensic download of Salvador Ramos’ device
According to the search warrant, the Texas Rangers searched for all data on the phone including digital images, text messages, address books, photos, videos , voice messages and any information from the remote tracking system or GPS that help provide data or clues about the motive that led the gunman to commit the massacre.
In the same affidavit you can read how two male witnesses observed Ra We walked outside Robb Elementary loading a long rifle with a magazine and then started shooting towards the elementary school before entering.
The same document mentions that when the officers entered the elementary school they observed multiple victims in the corridors, as well as in the classrooms before the teenager was shot down.
According to KHOU*, the paperwork presented for the approval of the search before the judge contained an obvious error; the affidavit named a suspect who had nothing to do with Salvador Ramos, but with a case of human smuggling that was not related to the massacre in Uvalde.
The aforementioned media requested to the Texas Department of Public Safety a statement about the error, but they have not had a response in this regard.
