The 3-year-old boy with Down Syndrome who was found dead in a Texas apartment weighed 19 pounds and was infected with insects.
King Dewey looked like a skeleton when Port Arthur police officers discovered his body on Tuesday, KFDM reported.
Officers found a padlocked cabinet where the boy is believed to be kept locked up.
Child’s mother Tina Louis, of 43, and his sister, Kirsten Louis, of 21, are accused of harming a minor.
In connection with the death, the authorities are also looking for Jaylin Jevon Lewis, of 24, an acquaintance of both women.
The body of the victim underwent an autopsy to establish the cause of death. Two other children, brothers of King, are in the care of other relatives.
Kirsten allegedly told police that He had commented to his mother about how emaciated his brother was, and that she claimed that it was normal due to his disability. The mother allegedly said to feed him milk and vitamins.
Later, Tina admitted that her son had not received medical attention for nine months.
The women remain in detention under bail of $1.5 million each.
