“canelo-alvarez-told-me-that-i-was-a-horrible-fighter,-but-a-very-basic-boxer-beat-him”

Almost a month after losing against Dmitry Bivol, which meant his second setback as a professional, criticism of Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez continues to rain down. This time it is Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade who attacked the boxer from Guadalajara.

During an interview with the boxing channel Fight Hype, Demetrius criticized Canelo for losing to a fighter he described as having very basic fundamentals like Dmitry Bivol. And that Saúl described the American as a horrible fighter.

(Canelo) told me that I was a horrible fighter, but he beat a fighter (Bivol) with very basic fundamentals. I don’t do any of that shit, throwing uppercuts from far away and landing them. He was just standing. Bivol was just standing there throwing. And I don’t, I move; I dodge, I throw punches”.

In this sense, The Rhode Island boxer indicated that he was not surprised that the Mexican lost against the Russian in Las Vegas: “Now people cry and say ‘it’s that he shouldn’t be in 118’. But it was good for them when he dodged me, to go fight a finished and injured (Sergei) Kovalev. Stop with that.”

It is worth remembering that Boo Boo and Canelo had a clash in 2021, when the American interrupted the conference of Álvarez’s post-fight press against Billy Joe Saunders. At that time, Andrade yelled at Álvarez that he was avoiding him.
