cuban-yordan-alvarez-extended-his-contract-with-the-houston-astros-for-six-years-and-$115-million-dollars

Cuban Yordan Álvarez has made history in Major League Baseball and not precisely at the point of hitting; but the powerful slugger reached an agreement with the Houston Astros to extend his contract for the next six seasons in exchange for $ 115 millions of dollars; this being the most lucrative pact for a designated hitter in the entire history of the Majors.

This extension of his contract will take effect from the year 2023 and it will replace the three years of free agency that the Cuban had planned with the sidereals. In addition, the powerful hitter will receive a total of $26 million dollars per campaign.

But not all remains there, but Álvarez’s new contract is the juiciest fourth for a player who has not gone through salary arbitration once in his career. The first were those of Fernando Tatis Jr. for 14 years and $340 million dollars, Buster Posey for eight years and $159 million dollars and Mike Trout for six years and $144,5 million dollars.

The impressive thing about all this is that the Cuban is one of the best batters currently in Major League Baseball. Without forgetting that he is only 14 years old and has a short four-season experience with the Astros from Houston.

The Cuban has connected so far 340 uncatchable, among them 66 doubles, two triples, 75 home runs and 217 RBIs. In addition, he also has the Rookie of the Year award and the Most Valuable Player award in a championship series.

In this way, the Houston Astros ensure permanence in their team to one of the most dangerous bats in all of baseball and the one who can be one of the leaders of the organization in the coming years along with José Altuve and Alex Bregman.
