hispanic-fugitive-inmate-who-evaded-authorities-in-texas-for-three-weeks-killed-five-members-of-a-family-before-being-shot-by-agents

The Hispanic prisoner who was a fugitive for three weeks until he was shot this Thursday by officers in Texas would have killed five members of a family hours before.

Gonzalo López, of 40 years, was intercepted after agents discovered the bodies of five people, two adults and three children, in a house in Leon County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the house where the dead were found is located near the area where López escaped after stabbing a guard.

On May 12, the Hispanic who was sentenced to prison life sentence for a murder in the 2005, was being transported from a prison in Gatesville to one in Huntsville when he broke free of his handcuffs near Centerville in that county and attacked the driver. From that moment on, he began a search. Yesterday the relatives of the murdered family contacted the authorities to warn that they did not know about them. The Police went to a cabin in Houston where they discovered the bodies.

The authorities indicated that López stole the white Chevrolet Silverado 1999 with DPV license plates4520 who belonged to the murdered family.

Allegedly, the fugitive traveled 250 miles to Jourdanton, to a few 30 miles south of San Antonio, after the multiple murders.

Officers in Atascosa County located the stolen vehicle and a shootout ensued that ended with the life of the convict.
