Last Tuesday, a tragedy occurred in Modena, Italy, after a nanny threw a 13 month-old baby she was caring for out of the window, who is hospitalized in a local hospital and has been reported as serious.
The nanny, named Mónica Santi, aged 13 years old, had been taking care of her for and on time the baby but out of nowhere, he threw him from a second floor window, an act that caused serious injuries to the minor.
Santi was arrested and in her first statements she indicated that said act he committed it because of a “mental illness” that he suffers from, assuring that at that moment he suffered a “catalepsy attack”.
“I was the one who threw the child out the window. It was not a premeditated gesture, but the result of an illness that came on me suddenly, I found myself in a state of catalepsy, I felt suffocated and I made that gesture for which I cannot give a justification, ”said the nanny, as revealed by her lawyer and words collected by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo.
Santi is in jail, where she has also declared that on the day of the accident, she was in a “parallel reality” and that even , after having thrown the baby, went to look for the cleaning woman to whom she told that now “the child was free”.
The judge has ordered a psychiatric examination to evaluate the state of the woman and has confirmed the arrest warrant, a measure supported by her lawyers, who fear that she will suffer some type of psychological disorder again and that they consider that this way she is more protected from herself.
