A fugitive from US Justice for five years was arrested last weekend in Mexico accused in Florida of possession of child pornography, the Sarasota City Police reported Monday.
John Pyle, aged 65, was arrested on June 11 in the Mexican city of Mérida , in Yucatan, and deported over the weekend to Miami, in southeastern Florida, where he awaits transfer to Sarasota, where he was detained in 2016 on charges of child pornography.
The defendant did not appear in court in 2017 and was declared a fugitive from justice until United States Marshals Service agents learned that was irregularly in Mexico.
In this way , and in collaboration with Mexican immigration agents, detained the suspect and deported him to the United States, where he was charged with 15 charges of possession of child pornography with additional charges pending.
In 2016, thanks to a search warrant in his apartment, it was discovered that the accused possessed images of child pornography.
The local authorities came to him thanks to a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, a non-profit organization established by the United States Congress.
