American former MasterChef finalist Nick DiGiovanni and Japanese Lynn Davis from Cooking with Lynja teamed up to cook the world’s largest chicken nugget.

This weekend Guinness World Records announced that the giant 40 pound nugget had set the new world record.

In a video published by Guinness World Records, you can see how the two popular chefs on TikTok created the world’s largest nugget in a rectangular shape that would be approximately 1,000 times larger than an average chicken nugget.

Nick DiGiovanni along with Lynn (popularly known as Lynja) first used 40 slices of bread and they added milk to crush the pieces.

They beat separately 40 eggs. In a huge bowl they placed kilos (39.6) pounds of ground chicken, which DiGiovanni noted would be close to 60 whole chickens, which were seasoned with 3/4 cup onion powder, 3/4 cup garlic powder, 1 cup salt, and 1/2 cup pepper black.

To the chicken, add the eggs, the bread soaked in milk and mix all the ingredients. specially made and they coated it with beaten eggs and brushed breadcrumbs. The mixture was poured into a mold specially designed for the nugget, brushed with beaten eggs and covered with breadcrumbs.

Baking the giant nugget was a tricky part of the challenge. According to DiGiovanni, testing in a home oven took up to 12 hours. In order to bake faster, the nugget had to be cooked in a commercial oven.

Guinness World Records reported that the world’s largest nugget was cut up and distributed among friends, family and the film crew to their consumption. It is not detailed or observed in the video if any sauce was used to dip the nugget pieces.

This is the second world record set by the duo formed by DiGiovanni Lynn Davis. Last year they teamed up in Cambridge, Massachusetts to bake the world’s largest cake pop weighing in at 44.24 kg (97 lb 8.52 oz). The confetti cake pop had a circumference of 50.75 inches (128.90 cm) and included a 33 inch stick (83.82 cm).
