heavy-rains-with-hail-cause-flooding-in-several-areas-of-mexico-city

Due to the intense rains in several states of Mexico, they have generated hail in some town halls in the center of the country, which left floods and affected some businesses without injuries being reported so far.

The civil protection authorities in Mexico reported through Twitter that the heavy rains with hail that were recorded throughout the afternoon of Sunday generated, in some town halls, flooding that caused chaos on public roads.

The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection announced the yellow alert of moderate danger due to rainfall and hailstorms in 10 of the 16 mayors of the Mexican capital, including: Iztapalapa, Coyoacán, Tláhuac, Tlalpan, Xochimilco, Magdalena Contreras, Benito Juárez, Álvaro Obregón, Miguel Hidalgo and Cuajimalpa.

So far, Mexican authorities have not reported persons women injured in any of the country’s states as a result of the hail, however, they did not rule out that the rains would continue.

For this reason, they recommended that the population carry umbrellas or raincoats and not throw grease or garbage to the drains to avoid the collapse of the roads.

In Atlanta and Alberto Balderas, Col. Ciudad de los Deportes, @BJAlcaldia, due to the accumulation of water, a 3 m section of an awning with a metal structure collapsed. @Bomberos_CDMX and staff from the #UGIRPC completely dismantled the 6 m awning.
