A man of 29 years old, who was intoxicated, was arrested after fatally running over a pedestrian who ended up dismembered and his torso was embedded in the driver’s window, while driving in the Río Grande municipality of Puerto Rico.
Lieutenant Elvis Zeno of the Patrol Division of Police Highways said that the man was identified as Julio Jiménez Rosario, who was driving around 3: 00 this Monday morning, on PR-3, Carola neighborhood, in Río Grande.
Zeno mentioned that the impact was of such magnitude that the The victim was dismembered and part of his torso was embedded in the window of Jiménez Rosario’s vehicle.
Río Grande authorities reported that the victim was identified as Pedro Vázquez Rubert from 62 years old, who was a resident of the Galateo neighborhood of that municipality and according to Telemundo 29, it was his own niece who identified him.
In addition, the lieutenant explained that the driver was driving a Rio vehicle and when he ran over Vázquez, he he was ejected and part of his body penetrated the windshield.
However, this did not cause the suspect to stop, instead he continued driving near 10 minutes until he reached his home with the “victim’s torso in the glass”.
“The entire torso is there except for the legs, because the legs were left at the accident site,” Lieutenant Zeno told a local media outlet.
It is worth mentioning that it was the suspect’s mother who called the authorities after noticing the body embedded in the windshield of his son’s vehicle.
