The Rolling Stones were forced to temporarily suspend the concert of their Sixty tour that was going to take place this Monday in Amsterdam. The cancellation of the event is due to the fact that Mick Jagger tested positive for covid-19, a health condition that does not allow him to be in an event public and thus avoid further contagion.
“Unfortunately I tested positive for COVID-19. We would like to reschedule the date as soon as possible and return as soon as we can”, detailed the band’s vocalist through a statement where he released the unfortunate news.
“Thank you for your understanding and patience“, he added.
In turn, the group decided not to to be able to appear, and suddenly suspend the event that they had already scheduled. However, they took the opportunity to highlight that it is important to keep in mind that it is a security issue for everyone. Therefore, they will have to wait a bit to enjoy the recital.
“The Rolling Stones deeply regret tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the public, the musicians and the crew the tour has to be a priority”, the band clarified in a letter.
The World Health Organization (WHO) this weekend announced that infections from this disease that ended up becoming a pandemic has taken a turn, because after more than two years there was finally a minimum number of people who have tested positive for the condition.
Jagger who already has 78 years, mentioned that he had felt some symptoms after arriving at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam. In addition, the person in charge of organizing the show in the Netherlands explained to the public what had happened, and they did so just an hour and a half before the time that was already stipulated for the show.
One of the announcers stated that the vocalist “can’t sing, can’t play. There is no show tonight.” For more than two years this condition has developed in the world and has been mutating in various ways, what is well known is that rest in the person who suffers from it is completely necessary, beyond avoiding continuing to infect more people .
