canadian-comedian-nick-nemeroff-dies-at-32

Comedian Nick Nemeroff died suddenly this Monday at 32 years old, his family announced.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the regretful passing of our beloved brother Nick Nemeroff“, was indicated in a statement on Instagram. “Nick’s dedication to stand up was formidable and produced amazing results.” , said that Nemeroff had died “in his sleep”.

The Canadian-born comedian made several appearances on the talk show Conan, performed at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival, and was part of CBC Gem’s The New Wave of Stand Up. Nemeroff was recently seen on the second season of CTV Comedy’s Roast Battle Canada.

His first stand-up album, The Pursuit of Comedy Has Ruined My Life, was released on 2020 and led to him being nominated for the Juno Award at 2021 for Comedy Album of the Year.

Nemeroff attended the Royal West Academy and graduated from the radio and television program at the Metropolitan University of Toronto, according to Deadline.

“He was acclaimed in Canada and the United States, becoming both a ‘comedian’s comedian’ and a success with crowds who fell in love with its unique cadence, labyrinthine deadpan and misdirection-driven new take on comedy,” his family wrote on Instagram.

“If Nick was on a comedy show, he was guaranteed to leave with new fans. And he deserved it, because comedy was, in many ways, his life. Endlessly sweet, supportive of others, humbled by his many abilities and accomplishments, Nick experienced his life doing what he loved, and he will be remembered as such. Nick, we love you“.

Nemeroff’s agency, Grand Wave Entertainment, issued another statement on Twitter, in which they said they were deeply saddened for the humorist’s departure.

The date and time of his funeral have not yet been announced. His family asked that, in lieu of flowers, “donations be made in his memory to the Planned Parenthood foundation of his choice.”
