The general director of Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), John Thorrington, announced on Tuesday the estimated date on which the team’s new signing and former Real Madrid player, Gareth Bale, could make his team debut.
According to Thorringthon’s words, Bale’s first game in MLS will take place on July 8, the date on which LAFC will face its greatest rival, the Los Angeles Galaxy, in the derby of the city.
However, Bale’s inauguration with Californians is determined for the time being to meet a series of requirements to comply with his immigration status.
According to the manager’s report, the Welshman is in the process of resolving issues with the United States immigration department and would join the squad at the beginning of July to try to get to the duel against the Galaxy in the best possible way.
As if that were not enough, Thorrington assured that Bale’s integration into LAFC marks a “unique opportunity”, highlighting the challenge that the attacker will have between November and December when he disputes the World Cup in Qatar 2022 with your selection.
“The process was as follows. Immediately after the game in which Wales qualified for the World Cup, we were in contact with Gareth’s agent. We talked about the opportunity here, unique in my opinion for Gareth”, he stated.
” And what Gareth needed in the next step of his career was also important. It was a perfect combination for what he wants for the World Cup and for us, for what he can give us on the pitch”, he added.
Gareth Bale, five-time European champion with Real Madrid, is the latest addition to a LAFC that announced on Monday the renewal of Carlos Vela’s contract and, a few weeks ago, the signing of Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.
