New York Mets star pitcher Max Scherzer continues to work on his recovery after missing more than a month of the season. Now, the next step for the right-hander is to face his second start in Double-A, although it was rescheduled for this Wednesday instead of today Tuesday.
Despite the announcement, the true reasons why the opening was postponed for this Wednesday, it is still a unique feeling for the metropolitans to be able to have their rotation ace back sooner rather than later.
Although in the metropolitan environment it is not something to worry about, but one of the reasons is to be able to give his rehabilitation an extra day so that he can return to the Major Leagues healthier.
“I’m trying to pitch and rehab at the same time. After that start, I did a core routine, then a bullpen, and then another workout. It was too much and I’m a little sore. To be able to pitch and start in the Majors on Sunday, everything has to be perfect“, Max Scherzer told MLB.com.
“Mad-Max” in his first start with the team Double-A Binghamton toiled for 3 1/3 innings where he struck out six batters and allowed just two earned runs against the University of Miami.
Likewise, if all goes in the right direction , Max Scherzer will be able to face at least three starts before the All-Star break and thus continue leading a team that is fighting for the pennant in the Eastern Division of the National League.
