Team USA defeated the Costa Rican national team by a result of 2-0 in the Quarterfinals of the Sub-Championship of Concacaf, and qualified for the World Cup in Indonesia.
The United States knew how to take advantage of all the mistakes made by the Central American team to fit the two goals that gave the ticket to the World Cup feat and that keeps them alive in the fight to go to the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
In this form the combined stars and stripes became the first classified to the World Cup Sub-20, to be held in Indonesia.
From very early on, the United States showed themselves to be superior, as barely 4 minutes had elapsed, when Paxton Aaronson received a ball inside the rival area, and against the weak mark of the Costa Ricans, he managed to send a direct shot to the angle impossible for the goalkeeper to save.
In fact, it can be said that the Costa Rican goalkeeper, Bayron Mora, was the star of his team, as he withstood almost all the shots from the attackers of United States.
Costa Rica only had one clear chance and almost tied the game after a major mistake by the American defense.
The United States’ second goal came at 48′, also scored by Philadelphia Union center forward Paxton Aaronson.
Al 53′ Costa Rica had the opportunity to reduce the advantage with a penalty decreed by the main. However, kicker Brandon Aguilera sent him straight to the stands.
Finally United United managed to achieve their first objective which was to qualify for the World Cup. Only the pass to the Olympics remains.
