A judge in Colorado sentenced Joseph Gabriel Van Eck to 162 years in prison on Friday for raping four homeless women he offered to take them from one place to another.
The convict, aged 33, was sentenced by a judge in Jefferson County under criminal charges.
The conviction is made up of several consecutive sentences.
A county jury found the man guilty on March 28 on three counts of sexual assault , two of second-degree kidnapping, four of soliciting prostitution, one of attempted sexual assault, one of illegal sexual contact, and one of robbery.
The criminal approached the victims, mainly, in a area west of Denver.
According to information provided by the county district sheriff’s office, the case against the aggressor began on 19 April 2020 when a young woman reported to the She tells them that Van Eck picked her up in Denver and drove to the foothills where he raped her. Three other women went to authorities with similar stories. The description of the attacker fit the characteristics of Van Eck.
In the case of these three victims, the man picked them up on West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, about 15 minutes west of Denver.
The attacker, after offering him a ride , was going to a wooded area where he sexually assaulted them.
In one of the cases, the victim reported that Van Eck forced her into the truck, grabbing her by the purse and pulling her inside.
The offender was armed with a knife and a pistol in more one time.
