The current Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals and champion with the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, will become an entertainer at the ESPYS (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award) annual gala, which will take place next 20 July.
Dressed in a black suit and a bow around his neck, Curry announced his participation in the event through his social networks, also posing with the aforementioned award that classified him as MVP in the final against the Boston Celtics.
The curious thing is that in addition to making his debut on the small screen -in a role not known as a presenter- he will also be nominated for the awards that he organizes the chain ESPN.
The number 30 of Golden State will compete as the Best Athlete of the Year in the men’s category, the Best Player in the NBA and the athlete with the Best Record Performance.
After the announcement, Curry left a few words in which he made it clear that he never thought he would have the opportunity to venture as an entertainer for some awards, but that he hopes to be able to offer a fun show to the height of his fans.
“I have had the pleasure of participating in the ESPYS, but I never imagined that I would have the privilege of presenting this very special event. As someone who loves the mix between sports and entertainment, I can’t wait to put on a fun show for fans as we celebrate the athletes who made the biggest moments of the year,” Curry said.
Moreover , Rob King, director of ESPN, commented on what it was like to have considered the point guard for the role, highlighting his role as one of the most outstanding stars not only in the NBA but in sports in general.2022
“Steph has been one of the brightest stars in sports and we are excited to have her share her passion for sports, his wisdom and his infinite talent with the ‘ESPYS,'” said Rob King, director of ‘ESPN’.
