Great controversy was caused by Holly Weaver Smith, a woman from North Carolina, who launched a harsh criticism against Mexicans through social networks, with a reflection called: “What does a dirty Mexican smell like?”

The owner of a boutique in Savannah made a live broadcast in which she talked about her experience during a trip to Mexico, especially the food.

Between laughter and With a mocking tone, the woman expressed: “Every time I sweat, I get dirty Mexican sweat. It’s like I have tacos under my arms, I’m an enchilada with feet”.

“That’s how I smell now, like a dirty Mexican”, she said as she asked for help to solve her odor problem.

But what she thought was funny, she didn’t had the same impact on the others, since she was accused of having engaged in racist manifestations.

“They no longer hide their racism”, “Is this funny?”, “You can go to Mexico, eat their food, enjoy their beaches, etc., and then talk this rubbish?”, were some of the opinions that were read from Internet users, disapproving of the woman’s action.

Those who were dissatisfied with her offensive comments urged people not to go to her store, so the woman had no choice but to lower her head and apologize for what she had expressed about Mexicans.

“On Friday night I made some comments about the Latino community that have come to light. These comments were super hurtful and it was never ever my intention to hurt anyone. I just wanted to say how truly sorry I am. I’m really sorry”, said the woman.

“I just pray that you don’t let this judge my character. This is not who I am as a person and I am very sorry”, Holly stated that she was not a racist person.

She also indicated that she was sorry and the apology she offered was sincere.

“I am truly sorry, that is not what It is in my heart and I hope that you can forgive me. I sincerely apologize”, he pointed out
