Both teenagers left their community in Nahualá, in northeastern Guatemala, with the aim of helping their relatives against poverty, reports Telemundo.

“All the things went up, the food, my son told me ‘ Dad, I’m going to fight’, he left because of poverty,” Manuel Tulul, Wilmer’s father, told the aforementioned outlet.

Both minors left looking for the “American Dream” in the hope of a better future and opportunities.

Melvin’s mother indicated that her son called her last Monday at noon, and told her that he was going to He got into a trailer headed for San Antonio, but then he didn’t hear anything more about him.

Laura Tepaz, aunt of adolescents indicated that both were happy to have arrived in the United States.

“They wanted a better future, because here in Guatemala nothing is earned,” said the woman in the midst of immense pain .

Melvin and Wilmer left their village full of dreams, they were just beginning to live, but fate cut short their goals, says Telemundo.

“My son was a worker, he always went with me to work, to clean the milpa, to clean all the things” recalled Manuel Tulul, Wilmer’s father.

Telemundo indicates that, in the midst of poverty and pain, the two families have initiated the procedures that allow them to have the bodies of their children back , to bury them on their land.
