The United States Marshals Service arrested fugitive Kaitlin Marie Armstrong in Costa Rica, suspected of killing a cyclist with whom her boyfriend allegedly had a relationship.

The arrest of the Texas yoga teacher this Wednesday culminated in a search of 43 days that also extended through several states before she was apprehended in the Central American country.

This Thursday, the federal authorities indicated that Armstrong, aged 43, was detained at Santa Teresa Beach, in the province of Puntarenas.

Federal Marshals worked together with Investigative officers from the Department of Homeland Security , the Diplomatic Security Service of the Department of State and authorities in Costa Rica to find the whereabouts of the woman.

“The Marshals Service raised the investigation against Kaitlin Armstrong to a major case status tea early in the investigation, which likely played a key role in his capture after 43 days on the run,” Susan Pamerleau, U.S. Marshal for the District of Columbia, said in a written statement. According to the evidence handled by the investigators, the day after the transaction, the woman would have traveled from Austin Bergstrom International Airport to Houston Hobby, before taking another plane to LaGuardia Airport in New York.

The victim had traveled from San Francisco, California, to Texas to participate in a race in Hico, southwest of Fort Worth.

Wilson’s body was discovered by a friend of Wilson’s in a home in East Austin on Maple Avenue on 11 of May.
