President Joe Biden faces serious credibility problems about how his public policies are benefiting the country, since 85% of American adults believe that the United States is in the wrong address.
In addition to that data there is another surprising one: 8 out of each 10 Democrats has that position, according to a poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
The 79% of those surveyed describe the economy as “bad”, adds the report, which includes some testimonies from those surveyed, such as that of Chuck McClain, a 74 year-old man who lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“You are doing your best, but I cannot say that he is doing a good job”, he considered.
McClain describes himself as “a loyal Democrat”, but acknowledged that the Democratic congressmen are not doing enough either, to face r inflation, the high cost of gasoline and groceries.
The survey reveals that only the 39% of Americans approve of Biden’s leadership, while 60% disapprove, marking his downward trend, falling one percentage point.
The main problem facing Biden is the economy, since the 69% criticizes him in that area.
The number of people who consider that the country is moving in the right direction also fell, going from 21% to 14%.
A similar Reuters-Ipsos poll shows figures similar, where the 73% consider that the country is going in the wrong direction. Among Democrats the figure is 63%.
The Economist-YouGov survey shows that 77% of Americans see the country in the wrong direction. Among Hispanics, the figure drops 64%.
In that same survey, the 58% consider that the country is already in recession. Among Hispanics, the figure is set to 54%.
