A 34-year-old woman was gored by a bison in Yellowstone National Park, rangers said, this being the second altercation with this type of animal in just three days.

A woman from West Chester, Pennsylvania, was gored by a male bison near Yellowstone Lake last Wednesday 29 June, announced the National Park Service.

“The woman and her daughter inadvertently approached the bison as they were returning to their vehicle at the trailhead, causing the bull bison to charge,” park officials said in a statement. press.

The woman had non-life-threatening injuries and she was taken to a hospital in Cody, Wyoming. Park officials are investigating the incident. The National Park Service did not release the woman’s name.

At least two other people were injured by bison in Yellowstone this year.

Bison attacks in Yellowstone National Park

On June 1st, an Ohio woman from 25 years old died after being rammed by a bison in Yellowstone National Park after she got too close to the huge animal.

The woman approached the bison while walking near a boardwalk in the Black Sand Basin, just north of Old Faithful, the National Park Service said in a statement at the time. She got “too close to the animal” before it “gored her and threw her feet into the air”.
