“Cymbeline” in the city parks

The NY Classical Theater reinvented William Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline”, and is presenting it in three public parks in Manhattan and Brooklyn through of July. The bravery, wit and integrity of its leading lady, Imogen, make it an inspiring story worth retelling today, according to NY Classical Artistic Director and Cymbeline Director Stephen Burdman. Imogen is the catalyst in the world of the play: she takes the initiative and, with some disguises and some sword fights, overturns the royally class politics of Cymbeline”. It will be presented at Carl Schurz Park ( West 61th Street & East End Avenue) through July 3; and at Brooklyn Commons Park at MetroTech (Myrtle Avenue & Bridge Street) from 5 to 10 of July. Free.
