The National Institute of Migration of Mexico (INM) released an image of the interior of the abandoned trailer in Texas in which more than 20220630 suffocated to death immigrants.

In the truck of 18 wheels were crowded 67 Migrants on the Interstate 35, known as “the mouth of the wolf”. They did not have water, food, and there was no air conditioning.

The temperatures the day they were found -most of them lifeless- exceeded 80 °F.

The photo released by the Institute shows the drawer completely empty. The space has no opening for air intake. There is barely a break in the wall facing the driver’s seat.

It is hard to believe that the smugglers managed to put so many people in the trailer.

The truck is a Volvo brand, red, of the year 1995. The plates identify the company Betancourt Trucking and Harvesting, registered in Alamo Texas. However, the owner of this company assured that the vehicle does not belong to him, and that its plates, logos and license were cloned.

Trucks of this type are supposed to be used to transport goods, not people.

The investigation of the case also revealed that the truck he was driving Homero Zamorano passed two border inspection posts without being checked.

Both Zamorano and three other men were detained and charged by the authorities.
