The MLB announced this Thursday the results of the first phase of voting for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game 2022, in which the Venezuelan outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. assured his ownership and others 13 Latinos remain in the race to be the starters at their positions for the American and National League teams, respectively.

Outfielders, Acuña Jr., of the Atlanta Braves (3.477.188 votes), and Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees (3.762.098) ensured ownership in their positions by being the most voted in this first stage of the election process by the National and American Leagues, according to the voting format.

The 13 Latino players (six Dominicans, three Venezuelans, two Cubans, a Mexican and a Curaçaoeño) are distributed in eight in the American League and five in the National.

In the American, the Mexican Alejandro Kirk, of the Toronto Blue Jays (3.296.477 votes) leads José Treviño, of the New York Yankees (1,109, 099) in the dispute over the catcher of the minor of the circuits.

The C Vladimir Guerrero Jr., from the Blue Jays (2.853.265), remains at the forefront in the battle to take over the AL first, followed by Ty France of the Seattle Mariners (1.279. 268).

The second base will be in the hands of a Latin American, since the Venezuelan José Altuve, of the Houston Astros (1.925.688) and the Dominican Santiago Espinal, of the Blue Jays (1.745.741), are the two finalists for this position for the Mid-Season Classic.

The same situation occurs in the antechamber of the American League team, where José Ramírez, from the Cleveland Guardians (1.925.688) and Rafael Devers of the Boston Red Sox (1.871.493) were the most voted to stay in the race for third base.

In the outfield, Cuban Lourdes Gurriel, of the Blue Jays (1.265.493) is fourth in a competition that is led by Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels (3.381.758), who is followed by George Springer, also of the Blue Jays (1.835.693) and Giancarlo Stanton, from the Yankees (1.215.296), who occupy the first three places in the vote for keeping the remaining two positions, since that Judge already owns the title in one of the outfields.

The designated hitter is led by Cuban Yordan Álvarez, of the Astros (2.206.456) while being chased by the Japanese Shohei Ohtani, of the Angels (1.550.0).

In the National the Venezuelan Willson Contreras, of the Cubs rivers (2.070.343) is the receiver with the highest total votes, ahead of the mask of the Braves Travis d’Arnaud (1.688.837).

Curaçao Ozzie Albies, of the Braves ( 1.745.859) leads the election for second base where he battles with fellow second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., of the Miami Marlins (1.731.824).

In the antechamber, the Dominican Manny Machado, of the San Diego Padres (2.296.479) beats Nolan Arenado (1.618.456) of the St. Louis Cardinals.

In the outfield, Dominican Starling Marte, of the New York Mets (1.109.390) is third, surpassed by Mookie Betts, of the Los Angeles Dodgers (3.480.480) and Joc Pederson, of the San Francisco Giants (1.824.390) and ahead of Adam Duvall, of the Braves (1.070.869).

Acuna Jr. has one of the gardens in his hands, so these four players compete for the remaining two.

The Venezuelan William Contreras, of the Braves (1.775.703) fights Philadelphia Phillies star player Bryce Harper (2 .480.099) for keeping the designated hitter job.

The vote for who will be the starter and substitute in the match that brings together the stars of both MLB leagues will open on July 5 and will close on the 8th of that month at 2 in the afternoon of the Eastern United States Joined. In this second stage, the votes of the first stage will not be counted.
