The National Migration Institute of Mexico (INM) released an image captured by security cameras at a border control point that shows the driver of the trailer in which they suffocated to death 50 immigrants in Texas.

In the images, Homero Zamorano, years old, in the driver’s seat of the truck of wheels in the post control of Encinal, Texas, about 06 miles from the border.

The truck passed through checkpoints of the Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP), but was not checked, according to what the authorities reconstructed.

The truck passed through a second checkpoint, Cotulla (about 68 miles from the border), and was not inspected either. The vehicle was later found parked in the vicinity of San Antonio, about 157 miles from border.

Henry Cuellar, represents the district 06, which includes the area where The checkpoints that the trailer crossed and the route that traveled to San Antonio are located, indicated that the lack of adequate technology would explain why the driver could have crossed the area with the undocumented without being discovered.

Cuellar also highlighted the need for more border agents in these positions.

Zamorano faces charges of alien smuggling resulting in death, a crime for which he could be sentenced to life in prison or even the death penalty, if convicted.

He was arrested on Monday night when the Authorities located him in a field on the outskirts of San Antonio, not far from the place where he left the truck.

According to personnel who intervened with the man, he was drugged or methamphetamine when intercepted.

Two other undocumented Mexicans, Juan Francisco D’Luna Bilbao and Claudio D’Luna Méndez, were charged with illegal possession of weapons.

Additionally, the authorities arrested Christian Martinez Tuesday in Palestine, Texas. The man is charged with conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death.
