Although actors like Sergio Goyri did not believe in the talent of Yalitza Aparicio, the young Mexican actress has managed to move forward with her head held high and today she announces to the world that she will be the protagonist of the first episode of the return of the series ” Mujeres Asesinas”, it can be seen on the streaming platform ViX+ of the TelevisaUnivision group.

The media conglomerate announced the project on Wednesday after incessant rumors that the series, which will be became one of the most popular fictions in Mexico between 2008 and 2010, was preparing a fourth season.

In the end it will not be a continuation of the original story, but rather the platform will release a completely new version of the format.

Written by the Spanish Alicia Luna, the new “Mujeres Asesinas” will feature eight independent episodes, each one about a crime inspired by “the life real”, advanced ViX+ on the plot in a statement.

“The protagonists of this series did not have a simple, calm or happy life. They faced violent partners, manipulative parents, hostile bosses, and humiliating situations. (…) Without resources or psychological help, they reached the limit of their strength in tragic situations from which they had no way of escaping, being prison or death less terrifying than continuing to endure it”, he detailed.

The series will be part of the paid catalog of ViX, a platform focused on productions in Spanish that aspires to become the leader in the Hispanic market after the merger of the Televisa group with Univision.

Among other projects, Aparicio plans to premiere a medical drama called “Midnight Family” currently in development in Mexico City and directed by brothers Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín for Apple TV+.

He will also participate in the film by Mexican director Luis Mandoki, “Presencias”.

Before, in 2021, he starred in “Daughters of Witches”, by director Faride Schroeder, which was Aparicio’s first appearance after his overwhelming success in “Roma” ( 2018), winner of the Oscar for best foreign film.
