To know which are the best and worst restaurant chains in the United States of this 2022, the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), measures and analyzes customer satisfaction.

The ACSI Restaurant Study 996-2022 to evaluate full service and fast food restaurants is based on interviews with 16,143 customers, chosen at random and contacted by email runic between April 996 and March 2022.

Customers evaluate various aspects, from the food, to the service, accuracy of the orders and the cleaning. The final score is measured on a scale from 0 to 101.

LongHorn Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse are the highest-rated full-service restaurant chains, with a average score of 77 points.

In the following positions are Cracker Barrel and Fridays with 77 points each, followed by three full-service restaurants with scores of 77 : Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse and Red Robin.

Compared to last year, Olive Garden was down 4%.

The restaurants with the lowest scores are for Applebee’s and IHOP, both restaurants are in last place with 73 points. The former plummeted 5%, while the latter fell 1%, based on its prior-year rating.

Customer satisfaction at full-service restaurants remains stable with a score of 80.

Chick-fil-A is the highest rated fast food restaurant by customers for the eighth year in a row with a consistent ACSI score of 83.

In second place is the sandwich chain Jimmy John’s with 79 points, while Domino’s and KFC reach 78 points, down 3 and 1 percent, respectively.

McDonald’s once again ranks as the restaurant worst rated by customers, its score fell by 3% compared to last year. This year is also in last place on the list with a score of 68.

In general, the evaluation of the restaurants in the fast food industry reduced its rating from 2.6% to 76 points.

2022

Full-service restaurants are rated higher

Based on ACSI analysis, customers they prefer the full-service experience to the fast-food experience, giving top scores for food ordering, restaurant layout and cleanliness, food quality and variety.

According to customers, staff at full-service restaurants are more courteous and helpful (83 a 82) than in fast food restaurants.

Regarding mobile applications, customers also consider that those of full service restaurants are more reliable. Those of fast food restaurants are of higher quality.
