gennady-golovkin-revealed-his-toughest-opponents-of-his-career-and-did-not-include-canelo-alvarez

With 40 years of age and 44 fighting as a professional the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin has only lost once and it was against the Mexican Saúl Canelo Álvarez, whom he precisely did not include among the toughest rivals he has had in his life .

Right now the third fight of the closing of the Canelo-Golovkin trilogy is being promoted in the United States and both boxers have offered their statements to the media. In his last press conference, Golovkin revealed the toughest opponents he had in his career.

“I wouldn’t say Canelo is the best. He is a great opponent, of course. He is a very difficult opponent, but as you can see he loses… ”, acknowledged the Kazakh. “I’m talking about the number of amateur boxers in my amateur career who didn’t become professionals,” he added.

GGG somehow gave those fighters special recognition for shaping him and for him to become what he is today. A two-time unified middleweight champion and now he’s looking to wrest the super middleweight titles from Canelo Alvarez.

Golovkin has a record of 40 wins (37 KOs), one loss and one draw. The times he didn’t win, they were against Canelo at super middleweight. As an amateur he had a record of 168-5.

For the Mexican boxer, Golovkin does represent his rivalry toughest in his career.

“It’s the biggest rivalry I’ve had in my career, but obviously I want to say that I’m excited because we’ve had great fights between him and me. This time I think it will be a little more different, I feel stronger, I feel very good, so now we are going to end this rivalry in this fight”, he said exclusively for TV Azteca.

This match will be on 17 September at T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada, USA The WBA, WBO, WBC, IBF and The Ring titles of the 168 pounds that Canelo Álvarez owns are at stake.
