nobody-forced-bruce-willis-to-continue-working-when-his-health-worsened

Last March, Bruce Willis shocked the movie mecca after abruptly announcing his retirement, also revealing that he suffers from aphasia, a degenerative disease that affects the language centers of the cerebral cortex and therefore affects the communication and understanding skills.

In two years, after receiving the diagnosis that changed his life in June 2020, the actor shot 15 low-budget movies that went largely unnoticed. Many lamented that this was to be the legacy of one of Hollywood’s great action stars, and rumors even circulated that the director of ‘Midnight in the Switchgrass’, the critically panned thriller starring Megan Fox, pressured him to continue working.

Bruce Willis’s lawyer has now assured that this was not the case, since Randall Emmett is a regular collaborator of the star of ‘The Glass Jungle’ who never would not put him in a compromising situation or ignore his well-being.

“My client continued to work after his diagnosis because he wanted to and was able to, like many other people with aphasia who are able to continue working“, Martin Singer told the Los Angeles Times:

Anna Szymanska, who was the filmmaker’s assistant until she resigned in February after a year, has added that Bruce was “never alone” during his two days of filming in another film, ‘Wrong Place’, one of his last collaborations with Emmett. These two testimonies are part of an in-depth article in the newspaper that investigates allegations of inappropriate behavior that have been made against the director, assuring that he offered papers in exchange for sexual favors and that he forced his employees to carry out illegal activities on his behalf.

Controversies aside, Bruce’s lawyer insists that the actor deserves all the praise for having continued to work despite the obvious difficulties that were presented to him: “Thanks to the fact that Mr. Willis appeared in those films, they were able to be financed. That put literally thousands of people out of work, many of them during the coronavirus pandemic.”
