A curious moment marked the end of the participation of the president of the United States, Joe Biden, in the NATO summit, when the president confused Switzerland and Sweden for a moment.

Biden was speaking at the podium about NATO’s formal invitation to Sweden and Finland to be part of the Alliance.

The confusion occurred when the US president recalled that the president of Finland, Sauli Niinistö , offered to speak on the phone to the Prime Minister of Sweden, Magdalena Andersson.

“I received a phone call from the leader of Finland saying that he could come see me. He came the next day and said, ‘Will you support me joining, my country joining NATO?’ He talked on the phone and he suggested that we call the leader of Switzerland… Switzerland, my God. I am getting very anxious here about the expansion of NATO… of Sweden,” the president said, instantly rectifying.

During his tenure as head of the United States, Joe Biden has had other uncomfortable moments and mistakes that have been recorded on video.

A few months ago, a few days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began , the US president confused the Ukrainians with the Iranians during a speech at the State of the Union.

“Putin can surround kyiv with tanks, but he will never win the hearts and souls of the Iranian people. He will never, never be able to extinguish his love for freedom and he will never, never weaken the determination of the free world”, he expressed at that time.

A confusing moment was experienced last April when the president of 79 years shook his hand in the air, without there was someone in front of him, at the end of a speech at the University of North Carolina.

In addition, he was seen confused, not knowing where to go for a few seconds. The strange moment quickly went viral on social networks.
