burger-king-employee-given-candy-by-managers-for-27-years-of-work-without-missing-a-single-day-has-collected-more-than-$300,000-in-donations

The employee of a Burger King in Las Vegas, Nevada, who has worked for 27 years in the company without being absent a single day has already received more than $300,000 dollars in donations through the GoFundMe account your daughter set up.

Seryna Ford recently increased the collection goal to $270,000 at the request of users of the crowdfunding platform. Initially, the goal was $200.

It all started last week on Kevin Ford’s work anniversary date, from 54 years, in the fast food restaurant. The worker joked about how long he had been with the company. The local managers at McCarran International Airport gave him a backpack with a movie ticket, a cup of Starbucks and candy.

The employee shared a video on networks in which he appreciates the detail, material that went viral.

“I feel honored, he was good and I love this”, indicates Ford in the video.

The reaction of many users was disbelief. They could not believe that after so many years of loyalty to a company they did not have a more valuable detail for the man.

Seryna felt the same way, considering that her father deserved more for so many years of work. It was then that he opened the fundraising campaign.

“He originally started working on this site as a single father when he got custody of me and my older sister ago 27 years. Then when our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work here because of the wonderful health insurance provided by the employer because he is unionized, which allowed his four daughters to go through high school and college with full health coverage,” reads a message on the GoFundMe page.

“My father continues to work here because, although he looks young, he is approaching retirement age and leaving his job would cost him that benefit”, the daughter continued. “In no way are we asking for money or he is waiting for some money, but if someone feels blessed, he would love to visit his grandchildren,” he added.

Ford recently fulfilled that dream. The man flew to New York to tell his story on NBC’s “The Today Show” and there he was reunited with his grandchildren.
