The woman who was found dead by a relative in a Maine home last April was stabbed nearly 500 times, details a criminal complaint made public this week.
For the murder of Kimberly Neptune, of 43 years, Donnell Dana, of 38, and Kailee Brackett, of 38.
The body was discovered by a relative in the victim’s apartment in perry. He was wrapped in a sheet, according to the Bangor Daily News report.
The media report indicates that days before the murder was reported, last 21 April, Brackett had accused Neptune of stealing money from him. Allegedly, both arrested were planning to rob the victim 300 of Xanax pills and money.
Brackett was identified as a suspect after she posted photos on the internet at who wore clothing similar to that of a woman caught on a Neptune neighbor’s security camera. Neptune, a member of the Passamaquoddy tribe, lives in a tribal dwelling.
The Police interviewed Dana, who has a son with Brackett, and he indicated that he lived with Neptune for a few years, but that he moved in the 2021. The man claimed that she slept on the sofa and that they never had a serious relationship. She added that she takes seizure medication and can’t remember where she was on April 21.
Dana denied murdering Neptune.
A witness told police that Brackett revealed to him that the plan was to steal drugs from the victim. Brackett told the person that she and Neptune were seeing each other. Allegedly, on April 20 she contacted Neptune to arrange a night together.
Brackett arrived at Neptune’s house with the man, causing her annoyance. It was at this time that Dana allegedly attacked Neptune. As the two clashed, Brackett allegedly grabbed items from the home including jewelry, money, and Xanax.
