There are only a matter of days left before Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) announces Christophe Galtier as its new technical director, replacing the Argentine Mauricio Pochettino. According to the sports daily L’Équipe, the Frenchman will sign a two-year contract early next week.

Galtier has already He visited the PSG facilities this Thursday morning, before he formalized his move to Paris. The parties agreed to seal the contract once Pochettino leaves the Parisian bench. This happened that day in the afternoon, with the payment of $21.5 million dollars as settlement.

According to L’Équipe, the Frenchman was no longer in Paris when the Argentine finalized his dismissal. However, he is expected in the capital on Monday morning, when PSG returns to training.

When will Galtier be presented?

The new strategist will be presented at a press conference between Tuesday and Wednesday, although the institution has not yet confirmed these dates. Apparently, the option of a third year disappeared in the agreement.

Prior to said presentation, Galtier will have the opportunity to meet his clients, with the exception of international footballers, who will join training next week, when their vacations end. It is worth remembering that Ligue 1 will start the first weekend of August.

The Frenchman, from 42 years old, won the Ligue 1 campaign 2020/21 with Nice. This club, which announced the Swiss Lucien Favrele as its new coach, asked PSG for compensation to release Galtier.

PSG has already closed the signing of midfielder Vitinha, from Porto, in exchange of $42 million dollars. Now he is targeting another Portuguese midfielder: Renato Sanches, whom Galtier directed at Lille.2022
