Around the entire US, fireworks display is the peak moment on the night of July 4, Independence Day.
In New York, the high density of high-rise buildings and many skyscrapers, makes it difficult to see the horizon or the sky. And on a night like the 4th of July, many take to the streets trying to secure a seat to appreciate the fireworks show sponsored by Macy’s, which this year reaches its 46th edition.
The event, which has changed locations over the years, this year remains on the East River, in order to cover at least three counties: Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at nightfall, at 9: 25 pm on Monday.
Additionally it will be broadcast by NBC, as a closing musical program from 8 pm, with performances by Seconds of Summer, Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce, Pitbull with Filmore, Lin Manuel Miranda and the cast of the Broadway show “Moulin Rouge”.
After the suspension in 2020 due to the pandemic and the limitations still in force in 2021, it is expected that more people take to the streets this year, which has also been a long weekend.
In addition to boats, terraces and private apartments overlooking the river, there will be free public viewing areas with limited capacity by the NYPD in these places, detailed Fox News :
