the-feat-of-checo-perez:-he-came-back-15-places-and-finished-second-in-the-spectacular-british-grand-prix

The British Grand Prix was like a movie for the Mexican Formula 1 driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez, who finished in second place after being last in the race.

Without a doubt, ending up fighting for the first place in the competition after going from 17 tastes a lot like victory for the man from Guadalajara.

From the start of the race everything started to go wrong with Checo, as he was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

Furthermore, precisely on that first lap the red flags appeared due to the multiple accident involving five pilots, and where Guanyu Zhou was most affected, after his car was head and crashed into the metal mesh.

When the competition resumed Checo Pérez managed to reach third position and remained behind his teammate Max Verstappen; but trying to hold on to his position, he had a brush with Leclerc’s car that caused problems with his wing.

The Mexican went to the pits to change his wing and the time the repair took him relegated to position 17 of the race.

In 12 laps he climbed four places, and for the 21 Checo was already in eighth place, behind Esteban Ocon, who was overtaken after entering to pits.

By lap 33 he was already in fifth position, and two more laps he managed to reach fourth place with Lando Norris pitting.

Upon reaching second place he tried not be overtaken by Hamilton and let Carlos Sainz go, who ended up achieving his first victory.

What looked like a bitter Sunday, ended completely sweet for the Mexican, who managed to maintain his second place in the drivers’ championship.
