Ingredients to make waffle dough for Belgian waffles
– 125 gr. of wheat flour.
– 125 gr. of strong flour (this differs because its gluten content is higher).
– 90 ml. of milk.
– 12 gr. of fresh yeast.
– 1 egg.
– Half a teaspoon of cinnamon or vanilla essence.
– 140 gr. of butter.
– 100 gr. of pearl sugar (this is essential for the mixture, because it will cause a crunchy sensation inside the waffle).
– 1 pinch of salt.
Steps to prepare Belgian waffles
1. To the milk, which should be at room temperature, add the yeast and dissolve it.
two. In a separate bowl, mix the flours and salt. Gradually add the yeast milk, egg, and cinnamon/vanilla.
3. Add the butter at room temperature and integrate everything very well.
4. Let the dough ferment with a cloth on top for a minimum of 2 hours.
5. When the dough has risen, add the pearl sugar and mix everything with your hands.
6. Separate the dough into equal balls and wrap them very well with plastic bags. Let them rest for a minimum of 30 minutes.
7. Once the waiting time has passed, you are ready to prepare your waffles.
8. Place each ball in the waffle maker, remember to spray it with cooking spray to prevent them from sticking. Cook them until they are golden and crispy.
