Despite the fact that we are already living in the 21st century, there are many countries that, culturally, continue to have and practice a macho attitude, where women are seen as simple objects and not as human beings who can decide on what they want or not for their lives, seeing themselves subjected to the pleasure of men, who are sometimes part of their own family.
That is what happened to a teenager of just 15 years in Iran named Ariana Lashkari, who unfortunately lost her life at the hands of her father, who claims he accidentally shot his daughter simply because he wanted to “give her a scare” after he saw her in a park with a man unknown to him.
It all happened in the past 20 in June, in the Iranian town of Nurabad. The father, a 43-year-old man identified as Mohamad Kazem Lashkari, was on the street when he discovered his daughter having a very pleasant conversation with a gentleman. that he didn’t know who he was.
When Ariana returned home, Mohamad confronted her and they got into a heated argument that caused the girl to leave her home to go to her paternal grandmother’s house and ask her for help after what had happened.
However, the father showed up at her mother’s house with a shotgun in hand and according to his words, he accidentally triggered it, shooting his daughter, an act that took her life.
“After an argument, Ariana went to my mother’s house and I couldn’t control my anger. I went there with my shotgun to scare her. She really didn’t want to kill my daughter. I fired without meaning to”, the man would have confessed.
Later, another member of the family pointed out that Mohamad was dealing with accepting that his daughter had grown up and was capable of making her own decisions, so like her choices and tastes in her lifestyle.
She also indicated that Ariana was a young girl who wanted to live her life and wanted to have a free spirit and thought, who did not like at all that her father repressed her, something that he had a hard time accepting.
Who they met to the adolescent they indicated that she was a compliant girl with her school duties, in addition to being described as a kind and affectionate person.
A neighbor of the family also testified against Mohamad, indicating that he is a former drug addict and that at some point, he had already threatened both Ariana and her daughter, who were very good friends.
The defendant is arrested and in Iran, murder is punishable by death; however, when it comes to the death of a child or grandchild at the hands of their parents or grandparents, the sentence is reduced to a maximum of 10 years in prison.
